The Des Moines Renaissance Faire & Coronation Pageant festival site at Water Works Park is currently under four feet of water. Even if the water receded today, the ground would be unusable this coming Memorial Day Weekend. So the festival is announcing it's NEW LOCATION! The Iowa State Fairgrounds! For those of you who remember, this is the site of the original Des Moines Renaissance Faire. Enter the festival site at E. 33rd Street and University. Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - Our First Festival Appearance of 2004! Posted by QueenCate Have Court, Will Travel will make it's first festival appearance during 2004 at the Des Moines Renaissance Faire & Coronation Pageant, Memorial Day weekend in Water Works Park. Please come and see the royal court dine in state, have your children knighted or selected as a future lady in waiting, see our coronation pageant, observe the Shakespeare Monologue competition and the Catapult Launch contest, meet the Royal Irish Wolfhounds and join the royals and learn the renaissance game of Boule. (lawn bowling) The Queen and Princess may be in the mood to play upon their flute and harp and the nobles will definitely try their hand at archery during their festival day. Queen Catherine & King Philip will be judging a children's renaissance costume contest each day and Prince Michael and Princess Margaret will be available to meet and greet any suitors who may wish to woo them. A wondrous time is expected to be had by all! Huzzah!
